Abstract:
The Palearctic species are revised; 59 species are recognized of which 10 are n.spp. Instead of 2 subgenera the genus is divided into 11 species-groups. C. pubicornis Zett. is regarded genus type. 58 new synonymies are established. Lectotypes are designated or validated for 77 names; neotypes designated for 3 species. Hosts have been recognized and are listed for 47 species and host specificity for each species is tabled. Other genera within the so called Chrysocharis-complex are diagnosed and their relationship to Chrysocharis discussed.
